This multi-disciplinary course, students (from Industrial Design Engineering, Communication Science and HMI) work together on a challenge in the domain of health and wellbeing). In doing so, this course reflects the notion that current societal challenges are complex and require input from different disciplines. In addition, this course (spanning the faculties of ET, BMS, and EWI) aligns with our university’s high tech-human touch mission statement.
Throughout the course, the students design an intervention for changing behavior. They work in groups of three or four and first review relevant literature to develop a “design for behavior change” framework. The framework will be utilized to develop an intervention for behavior change. The assessment will be based on the (1) literature review and elaborated framework, (2) development of an intervention based on the framework, (3) final scientific paper and (4) final presentations.
